Abstract
Teacher performance is one of the key factors determining the success of educational implementation in schools. The level of teacher performance is influenced by various factors, including principal leadership management, teamwork, and work motivation. Principals play a strategic role in managing school resources through planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising functions, while teamwork and work motivation serve as supporting factors that enhance the effectiveness of teachers’ duties. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the influence of principal leadership management and teamwork on teacher performance, both directly and indirectly through work motivation as an intervening variable. This study aimed to analyze the influence of principal leadership management and teamwork on teacher performance through work motivation at UPT SDN Selogabus 2 and UPT SDN Margorejo, Parengan District, Tuban Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents and analyzed using Path Analysis with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results revealed that: (1) principal leadership management has a direct and significant effect on teacher performance; (2) principal leadership management has an indirect effect on teacher performance through work motivation; (3) teamwork does not have a direct effect on teacher performance; (4) teamwork has an indirect effect on teacher performance through work motivation; and (5) work motivation has a direct and significant effect on teacher performance. These findings indicate that work motivation plays an important role as an intervening variable that strengthens the influence of principal leadership management and teamwork on teacher performance. Therefore, improving teacher performance can be achieved through strengthening principal leadership management, fostering effective teamwork, and continuously enhancing teachers’ work motivation.
