Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of the author's observations of problems related to maintenance of water injection pump assemblies. The aim of this research is to improve predictive maintenance procedures by analyzing vibrations using an online system. This seeks to lower the risk of equipment failure, lower maintenance costs, and increase overall operational availability. The approach used in this research is to apply a periodic monitoring method to equipment by analyzing vibrations (Vibrations Analyzer). The data was collected using observation data techniques, interviews, documentation sessions and analyzing vibration data via a vibration system (SKF Multilog IMX-S). The aim is to provide practical guidance to companies to optimize approximate maintenance practices. Based on the data findings, the results of this research showed that the Water Pump pump first showed signs of damage in the form of mechanical looseness in the pump base plate and misalignment of the pump during high vibration conditions. After repeated measurements of the vibration height, the bearing on the Water Injection pump with a vibration system (SKF Multilog IMX-S) was damaged, resulting in an unsatisfactory condition. This is caused by previous mechanical looseness and misalignment; even if the amplitude is good, the bolts on the pump base plate will loosen if not checked. Potential to increase the frequency of misalignment.
