Abstract

This study aims to analyze Jack Dawson’s sacrifice as a symbol of true love in the film Titanic. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data were collected from dialogues, scenes, and actions performed by Jack Dawson that reflect his sacrifices for Rose DeWitt Bukater. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation of the film. The data were analyzed by identifying, classifying, and interpreting evidence related to the representation of true love.The findings reveal that Jack Dawson’s sacrifice embodies the essential values of true love, including sincerity, courage, loyalty, and selflessness. Jack not only strives to protect Rose during the tragic sinking of the Titanic but also willingly sacrifices his own life to ensure her survival. His actions demonstrate that true love is expressed not merely through words but through genuine sacrifices made for the safety and happiness of a loved one. In conclusion, Jack Dawson’s sacrifice in Titanic serves as a powerful symbol of true love, reflecting profound values of humanity, devotion, and unconditional affection.
